A:   Natural vegetation under six inches in diameter that originates on your property.

IT IS ILLEGAL TO BURN GARBAGE, TIRES, BUILDING MATERIALS, HOUSEHOLD AND AGRICULTURAL CHEMICALS.

Q: Where can I obtain a burning permit? Print
A: For Johnston County residents contact the North Carolina Forestry office at 919-989-1925 or the County Fire Marshal's office at 919-989-5050. You may also access the on-line buring permit system from the N.C. Division of Forest Resources website - www.dfr.state.nc.us/
